Research
Manure Safety Solutions, LLC is committed to increasing the safety and efficiency of our customer's operations. In order to do this we are constantly addressing the challenges associated with agricultural waste management. Currently there are studies ongoing at ISU to quantify the horizontal and vertical distribution of hydrogen sulfide during pump out events. This will be very helpful in understanding and combating the threat of H2S related swine loss during pump-out. Manure Safety Solutions, LLC conducts continuous research in this area as well as field testing of our products. Contact Us with reseach ideas and questions.
Ag Waste Management Lab
While a member of the Ag Waste Management Lab, the owner of Manure Safety Solutions, Ross Muhlbauer, was involved in all types of manure research. Check out Iowa State's website for more research from the ISU AWML.
Development & Testing of a H2S Detection System for Use in Swine Housing
Ross led this study while a student at Iowa State University. The issue of hydrogen sulfide poisoning in swine during pump-out was addressed by the Agricultural Waste Management Lab. In the published study, multiple commercially available hydrogen sulfide sensors were tested for use in the swine industry. The hydrogen sulfide sensors from Pemtech were found to be very accurate and reliable and as a result were chosen for use in the SwineSafe™ H2S management systems.
